Both verbal and non-verbal communication are things, and they have the latter down pat by now, the gentle give and take of each of them being able to figure out where the other stands at specific moments without saying anything at all. Verbally too, to an extent - and while Paul is good at talking in general he still sometimes finds himself unable to put what he wants to say into proper words. He's working on it.
